I know where you are coming from myelaine and thanks for your comments earlier

REM - I think the world is becoming far more skeptical IMO and in my experience at least; most people love their dosh and toys above and beyond everything else.

Where I live in the UK it's all sports, booze, chips & curry, work, cars and sex - if you are an authority on any item within that list or preferably, all of them, you become a great drinking partner to the herd

(of course there are exceptions)

So, I think you are a herald for the masses.

I think you are ok though and enjoy your contributions to this thread - you are my cosmic resistance or the grinding wheel that sharpens my steel.

You can't make strong statements with second and third-hand information.

If you ever pop over to the UK, I am sure my friend will invite you around to his house for an evening, as he welcomes an open-ended discussion and is not a religious man in the traditional sense of the word.

You may find it enlightening.

they are usually out of focus dust or bugs

10 minutes research on the internet will unearth that explanation and we actively discounted many images to try and eliminate that possibility within the skeptics mind.

Plus, how do you account for clusters of orbs moving around his house, whilst he was watching them away from the camera lens?

I am sure if an orb popped into your house and said hello, bounced off your head and cooked your lunch for you, there would be room for doubt about it's existence still

When you say in context with something, what do you actually mean? Are you refering to 3D spatial imaging techniques? If so, you will simply have to take my word for it and my friends word for it, show a little faith maybe, or do you think I am a liar and by extension my friend? James is an average bloke and only has limited means to show the world his experiences and makes no claims as to their origin.

You have problems believing in a spirit world judging by your response so far, that is my assumption anyway.

What is you real problem here, as I detect anger?

In order to have evidence of a paranormal experience you would first have to prove that this what not created by your brain.

Well by definition of the word paranormal, if my friend James had summoned forth those orbs by the 'power of his brain' that would still be paranormal activity.

I assume you meant an intelligent lifeforce or entity sitting outside of the known physical realm creating the phenomenon and then proving first of all that this entity actually exists and then ascertainment of knowledge as to why and how the entity performed the manifestation?

If you mean the later, that boils down to your personal belief system and the spin you choose to apply when considering the event, and also theoretically if we are dealing with higher universal lifeforms, then how is it possible for us to accurately describe their methodolgy?

To my mind, we have our limits. Even science, god bless it !

Yes, thanks for the warning. I know you are sincere, but I covered this angle at the time and should have mentioned it in my original post.

The name smith (obviously NOT the real name) is no part of my address book and I searched stored mails for the name and there was no reference to be found.

I also have no hideous virus that is likely to pass to others at the moment via my mail box, but thanks for the 'heads-up' all the same.

edited to add: even if that were the case and I had a virus, considering the SPAM mail I do get and the random nature of the headers & names - that particular mail still had relevance due to the timing. I accept that this could be viewed as being rather fanciful and take your point onboard.

He took many shots and we had to ditch most them due to them looking like lens flare or dust particles.

I find your friend's experience interesting. Being the kind of fool who treads where angels fear to, I'd be inclined to take him up on his offer, complete with electronic apparatus.
